Zachary Graham Geery, age 40, of Batavia, Illinois, (formerly of Knoxville, Iowa), passed away on August 29, 2021, in West Chicago, Illinois.
A Celebration of Life for Zach will be held on Saturday, September 4, 2021, from 1:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M., with a service held at 2:30 P.M., at the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame in Knoxville. Zach’s family will be present to greet friends and relatives.
Zachary Graham Geery was born on August 3, 1981, in Pella, Iowa, the son of Alan Geery and Rhonda (Cowman) Hileman. Zach graduated from Knoxville High School in 1999; while in high school, Zach was active in football and wrestling. After graduation, he moved to Texas and met Jillian Cox and they later married in 2009. He worked as a Sales Customer Service Representative with Dyson. Zach was a proud father of two beautiful girls, Brooklin and Brenna, who meant the world to him. He loved participating and coaching the girls’ sports activities. Zach enjoyed golfing and was an all-around sports lover. He was active in the Epilepsy Foundation and a huge Iowa State and die-hard race car fan.
Zach is survived by his wife, Jillian; daughters, Brooklin Ly’jet (9) and Brenna Alayna (6) of Batavia Illinois; mother and step father, Rhonda and Jeff Hileman of Knoxville Iowa; father, Alan Geery of Knoxville Iowa; siblings, Luke Hileman of Knoxville, Iowa and Gretchen Hileman of Treasure Island, Florida; niece, Maisie Hileman of Knoxville Iowa; grandfather, Howard Cowman of Knoxville, Iowa; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Zach is proceded in Death by his grandmother, Linda Cowman; and grandparents, Edwin & Geraldine Geery.
Memorials may be given in Zach’s memory and will be used for the Education Fund for his daughters, Brooklin and Brenna & a Memorial Bench at Ken Locke Stadium.
Winfield Funeral Home of Knoxville is assisting Zach’s family with services.
