William Robinson

William E. ?Bill? Robinson, age 82, of Albia died Sunday August 5, 2007 at the Monroe Care Center in Albia. He was born August 19, 1924 on a farm west of Lovilia, Iowa to Morgan and Bertha (Edwards) Robinson. Bill married Lettie Wagner in 1951. They divorced, and on July 31, 1971 he married Mina Johnson in Lancaster, Missouri. Mina died October 23, 1998. Bill work on the railroad for CB&Q and Northern Railroad in Ottumwa before working at the Des Moines Water Works for 15 years. Later Bill also worked at the Twin Cedars School as a janitor, and he operated Mina?s and Bill?s Restaurant in Albia. Bill enjoyed traveling, hunting and fishing. He loved playing guitar, singing, and country music Bill is survived by two children, Sherry Largent of Knoxville and Patty Robinson of Fresno, California. Bill is also survived by one sister, Leah Lomax of Bussey; and a special friend Thelma DeWitt of Albia. Bill is preceded by his wives, Lettie and Mina; his parents, Morgan and Bertha Robinson; seven brothers, Glen, Elster, Russell, Harold, Lewis, Fred, and Robert Robinson; and two sisters, Dorothy Sullivan and Vera Robinson. Cremation was accorded to the wishes of the family and a Graveside Memorial Service is being held Wednesday, 11:00 A.M., August 8, 2007 at Greenlawn Cemetery in Bussey, with Pastor Bradley Hansen officiating. Burial will follow services.
