William Hackley II

William "Bill" Hackley II, 64, of Indianola passed away at his home on November 5, 2018 while under Hospice care. According to his wishes no services are planned. Pierschbacher Funeral Home in Milo is helping with the arrangements. Bill was born March 29, 1954 in Des Moines, Iowa to William Arnold and Phyllis Lou Danley Hackley. He grew up in the Des Moines area and graduated from Lincoln High School. After school he worked for Tonini's Funeral Home, Hamilton's Funeral Home, and for Broadlawn's Hospital. He loved to cook and had worked for Johnny and Kay's for many years. He then started into shoe repair and leather work. He had purchased the shoe repair shop on Grand Ave in Des Moines and worked there for over 20 years before moving to his location south of Indianola 16 years ago. Bill did work for the Des Moines Police Department, Fire Department, and the Civic Center for many years. Bill was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Bruce Hackley. Surviving are his sisters: Renee Snodgrass and Ruth Porter; along with many relatives and friends.
