Virginia Lee Seibert

Virginia Seibert, 72, of Harvey, Iowa passed away on Saturday, March 9, 2024. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, March 23, 2024, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Harvey Community Center. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Virginia’s family.

Virginia Lee Padgett was born on August 2, 1951, to Chester and Nancy (Wilson) Padgett in Harvey, Iowa.  She grew up in Harvey and lived there all her life. She attended Knoxville High School as well. 

Virginia met Kerry Seibert, and the couple married on November 26, 1969. They were blessed with three children: Eric, Michelle, and Jeffery.

Virginia was a nurse at the VA for 26 years. After Kerry passed away, she worked at Pella Plastics for some time before working for Midwest Sanitation for 15 years. Her family finally convinced her to slow down and  retire, so she could enjoy her time with her family.

Virginia loved to cook and have Sunday dinners for her family. She specialized in her homemade chicken and noodles. The family enjoyed every meal she made for them.

Virginia’s favorite color was purple, and she enjoyed flowers and gardening. She also loved playing Bingo and the Lottery. The most important and favorite part of her life was her family, especially her grandbabies.

Virginia will be deeply missed by her children, Eric (Alyse) Seibert and Michelle (Tony) Benge; 7 grandchildren: RaeLynn, Marshall, Libby, Connor, Calob, Kerri Lee, and Lukas; 3 great grandchildren: Brently, Nevaeh, and Taylor; special nieces, Julie Smith and Angie Landgrebe; as well as many more nieces, nephews, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her son, Jeffery Seibert; husband, Kerry; parents, Chester and Nancy; brother, Larry Padgett; and sister, Marilyn Vander Linden.
