Virginia Grace Lambirth

Virginia Grace (Scharff) Lambirth, age 99, of Attica, Iowa, formerly of Tracy, Iowa, passed away on Wednesday, June 23, 2021, at Accura Healthcare of Knoxville.
Visitation for Virginia will be held on Sunday, June 27, 2021, at the Winfield Funeral Home of Knoxville from 2:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M. with Virginia’s family present.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, June 28, 2021, at 10:00 A.M. at the Gullion Cemetery of rural Attica.
Virginia was born on November 28, 1921, in Delta, Iowa. She was the daughter of Arie H. and Eva Deana (Newport) Scharff. Virginia and her sisters grew up in Barnes City, Iowa. Virginia began school in Lacy, Iowa, and graduated salutatorian from Barnes City, Iowa, Class of 1939.
On December 28, 1940, in Unionville, Missouri, Virginia and Ralph Judson Lambirth were united in marriage. Virginia and Ralph shared over 63 years of marriage together and were blessed with four children: Virgil Daverne, Richard, Terry, and Sherrie. Ralph died on February 1, 2004.
Virginia was a wonderful mother who gardened and canned for her family. She enjoyed cooking and especially loved baking cookies and desserts. Virginia was also a member of the Bethel Baptist Church in Oskaloosa.
Left to honor her memory are her children, Virgil Daverne Lambirth (Carol) of Humeston, Richard Lambirth (Connie) of Attica, Terry Lambirth of Attica, and Sherrie Moore (L.E.) of Rose Hill; six grandchildren, Todd, Melissa, Curtis, Nicole, Julie, and Ashley; twelve great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandson.
Virginia is preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Ralph Lambirth; parents, Arie and Eva Scharff; sisters, Bernice Reynolds, Louise Flint, Nadine Van Maanen, and one sister in infancy; two grandchildren, Alex and Nathan Lambirth; and her daughter-in-law, Diane Lambirth.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in Virginia’s memory to her family and memorials will be decided at a later date. Condolences may be sent to www.winfieldfh.com . The Winfield Funeral Home of Knoxville is assisting Virginia’s family.
