Virginia Bakalar

Virginia Lee Bakalar, age 69, of Muscatine, Iowa former resident of Albia died Wednesday, December 6, 2006 at the Muscatine Care Center in Muscatine, Iowa. She was born January 20, 1937 in Albia, Iowa to Russell Sr. and Alice Mae (Cook) Stewart. She was a graduate of Albia High School, class of 1955, and attended Nursing College in Des Moines. She was a Medical Technician in Waterloo. She worked at the Hillcrest Hospital in Des Moines, and was a supervisor at Parkview Group Home in Albia. She also worked in private In-Home Health Care in Albia. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary in Albia, a former member of the Albia Eagles Club, and was also very active in all the parent organizations, such as PTO. She is survived by four sons; Randall S. Jespersen of, Michael Edwin Jespersen, Paul David Jesperson , and Robert Alan Large; one daughter, Shannon Gayle; nine grandchildren, and 1 great grandchild. Three brothers, Paul (Elaine) Stewart of Muscatine, Wilbur (Janet) Stewart of Melrose, and Russell Stewart, Jr. of Albia; and one sister, Marsha (Jim) Willetts of Centerville also survive Virginia. She is preceded in death by her parents. Funeral services will be held 1:00 P.M. Saturday, December 9, 2006 at the Winfield Funeral Home in Albia with Pastor Brian Harris officiating. Cremation will follow the service and burial of cremated remains will be held at a later date in Oak-view Cemetery in Albia. Visitation will open after 2:00 P.M. Friday, December 8, 2006 at the Winfield Funeral Home in Albia with the family present from 6-8 P.M. Friday evening at the funeral home. Memorials May Go To The Family
