Valerie Dee (Cornelison) Crozier, age 54, of Knoxville, Iowa, died Tuesday, September 1, 2020 in the comfort of her own home with family at her side.
Valerie was born in Iowa on November 16, 1965 to Earl Cornelison and Bertha “Bert” (Sams) Cornelison. She was raised in Tracy, Iowa where she attended and graduated from Twin Cedars High School.
Val was united in marriage to Rick Crozier and with their union came four children, Tyler, Amanda, Kriscindra and Alec. Her family and the time spent with them was important to Val. Her greatest joy in life was her grandchildren.
For most of her life she worked in general customer service positions. She had a strong work ethic and was most recently employed with Prairie Meadows Racetrack and Casino. She worked at Prairie Meadows for 13 years up until her passing.
Val can easily be remembered for her strong will, determination, and independence. She always made sure to give you her opinion whether you wanted to hear it or not. Val was fun and always the life of the party. Some of her favorite things to do included: bargain shopping (especially at Kohl’s), attending concerts and maintaining her pool where she spent most of her time unwinding, sunbathing, swimming, and spending time with her family.
Val was preceded in death by her former husband, Rick Crozier and her mother, “Bert” Cornelison.
Val is survived by and will be missed by her children, Tyler Pitt, Amanda Null (Chris Wissler), Kriscindra Crozier (Jacob O’Brien), and Alec Crozier (Jessica Miller); grandchildren, Charlie, Skylan, Toryn, Dakota, Xander, Cadence, Trapper, Oliver, Kairi and Cael; siblings, Rhonda Collins (Brian Westphal), Rodney and Reuben (April) Cornelison; a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, her dog, Bella, along with many extended family members and great friends.
Val’s wishes were to be cremated. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, September 12, 2020 at 1:00 P.M. at 307 McKimber St. Pleasantville, Iowa 50225.
