Terry Phillips

Graveside Memorial Services for Terry Phillips, 46, of Chariton will be Monday, October 29, 2007 at 1:00 PM at the Chariton Cemetery. The family invites everyone to attend a Celebration of Terry's Life at 3:00 PM on Monday at the Columbia Community Center. Family requests in Lieu of Flowers Memorials to the Columbia Fire & Rescue or to the New Covenant Church in Knoxville. Condolences may be left for the family at www.pierschbacherfuneralhome.com Terry was born in Des Moines, Iowa on January 8, 1961 to Guy and Berdine Phillips. He graduated from East High School in 1979. Terry was employed at 3-M in Knoxville in the maintenance Department. He passed away October 25, 2007 at the Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines. Terry enjoyed people, he went out of his way to help and always put others first. He had a great sense of humor and loved to tease everyone, and had a special way of making people feel comfortable. He had many great friends, but his best friend and the love of his life was his wife Mary. Terry enjoyed life and always got the most out of what he was doing. He loved mushroom hunting, being outdoors, hunting, dogs, and riding his Harley. He was preceded in death by his parents Guy and Berdine. Terry is survived by his wife Mary of Chariton; children: Kim (Josh) Alton of Chicago, Megan Phillips of Des Moines, and Michelle (Aaron) Shanks of West Des Moines; sister Judy (Jon) Miller of Chariton, brother Randy (Betty) Phillips of Truro; 3 grandchildren: Sydney, Tanner, and Leah; nieces & nephews; father and mother-in-law Everett & Ruth Beals of Chariton.
