Tammy Maria McCormick was born February 26, 1966, in Clarksville, Tennessee while her father was stationed in Ft. Campbell, Kentucky. She was the oldest of five children; was raised in Chariton, Iowa; graduated from Chariton High School in 1984; and lived and worked in Chariton until her passing.
Tammy was married to Brian Trenary from 1986 to 2006 and was blessed with two sons, Brady (31) and Turner (27). She was blessed once again with having Spencer (14) join her family in 2017. Many people in Chariton grew to know and love Tammy through her different employment at Hy-Vee, the Chariton School District and SCICAP, all while working on her master’s degree in Social Work. She was always willing to help others, while being quick witted and gracious with every person she encountered.
Tammy’s most beloved interests included genealogy research on the Trenary and McCormick family histories; Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears sports teams; and most of all watching her boys play sports and never missing a game. Her greatest joy was her family and she loved being a grandmother.
Tammy will be greatly missed by all who knew her, including her sons, Brady (Ashley) Trenary, Turner Trenary and Spencer Trenary; grandchildren Lilly and Huxon; her parents, William and Shirley McCormick; siblings, Tim (Laura) McCormick, Terri (Scott) Dyvad, Trisha (Ryan) Baker, and Tracey McCormick Greene, along with many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Memorials can be made in care of the Trenary Family.
