Sharon Sheets, 81, of Corydon, passed away February 17, 2024, surrounded by family. To honor Sharon’s wishes, no services are planned. Sharon will be laid to rest next to her husband Leonard Sheets at the Cambria Cemetery at a later date. The Pierschbacher Funeral Home in Chariton is assisting the family with arrangements.

Memorials may be made to EveryStep Hospice of Centerville, and cards may be sent in care of her daughter, Lori Schooley, 1062 Jewell Rd, Allerton, IA 50008.

Sharon Elaine was born in Chariton, Iowa to Lloyd and Faye (Frye) Throckmorton. She was raised in Derby and attended school there, graduating from Derby High School in 1960. She was married to Don Williams and blessed with three children: Michele, Buddy, and Lori. She later married Richard Jones and this union was blessed with a son Danny.

When she later married Leonard Sheets, the two found true love. Sharon always said the 14 years spent with Leonard were the happiest times of her life. Sharon attended nursing school in Centerville and became an LPN. A woman with many talents, she was determined and hardworking. Sharon always provided a stable home for her children, especially for Danny. She willingly sacrificed for the happiness of her children. She was an excellent seamstress, loved woodworking and painting, and could do any repair around the home. Sharon was a talented musician and could play the guitar, piano, and accordion.

Preceding her in death were her parents: Lloyd and Faye; husband, Leonard Sheets; brother, Dennis (Roxanne) Throckmorton, sister-in-law, Janet Throckmorton; stepbrother, Jim (Cathy) Halferty; and nephew, Mark Throckmorton.

 Those left to cherish her memory include her children: Michele (Tim) Nemechek, Buddy (Toni) Williams, Lori (John) Schooley, and Danny Jones; 11 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; brother, Garry Throckmorton; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
