Sharon Lair Lasswell passed away Friday, October 20, 2017 in Des Moines at the age of 73 years. A Musical Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, November 4, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Camp Nauvoo, 1095 S. Warsaw St. Nauvoo, IL 62354. Sharon was born November 19, 1943 in Fort Madison, Iowa to Everett and Rosalyn French Seaver. She was raised in Carthage, Illinois and graduated from Carthage High School in 1961 then attended Graceland College and Western Illinois University receiving her Master's Degree. She was blessed with two children: Michael and Melissa. Her Legacy was music. She taught private piano and woodwind music lessons for thousands of people, many of which are now artists and composers across the country. She was married to Danny Lasswell in 2017. Sharon was always loving, caring, optimistic, and always saw the good in everyone. She was a natural teacher. Her students enjoyed and excelled in their lessons. She enjoyed being active going on walks and exploring the outdoors and nature. She loved being in Colorado and dreamed of building her home on her property there. The greatest joy in her life was her family. She enjoyed being with her children and thought her granddaughter Lucy was the greatest thing ever. Sharon will be missed by her husband, Danny Lasswell; her children: Michael Lair of Des Moines and his children: Katie, Chrissy, and Jamie, and Melissa (Ben) Hudson of Des Moines and their daughter, Lucy. Also surviving are her brothers: Michael (Kay) Seaver if Quincy, IL, and Tom Seaver of Carthage, IL. Along with many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
