Sharon Bebee

Sharon Bebee, 76, passed away December 29, 2018. Services will be Saturday, January 5, 2019 at 12:00 p.m. at the Pierschbacher Funeral Home in Chariton. Family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be at the Chariton Cemetery. Memorials will be designated at a later date. Sharon was born January 18,1942 to Lowell and Mary (Poush) Dachenbach. She grew up in rural Lucas County and graduated from Chariton High School in 1960. Sharon found the love of her life, Ernie Bebee, and was married on March 21, 1977. They spent 35 years together before his death in 2012. Sharon took the strong work ethic, from the farm, through the rest of her life. She worked in a sewing factory, as a waitress, bus driver and then in the 1970s affirmative action era, she was trained to, and became a truck driver. She took her truck driving and entrepreneurial drive and started a trucking company with husband Ernie which lasted a number of years. During that time she went to Arizona State University and obtained a Master's Degree so that she could pursue her true passion, which was helping the homeless and taking families and individuals off the streets and getting them jobs and homes. She was recognized by the governor high ranking officials in Arizona and Iowa for her work with the homeless. Sharon was deeply faithful and always involved with the churches she was affiliated with teaching Sunday school or driving the bus to bring people to her place of worship. Preceding her in death were her parents: Lowell and Mary Dachenbach; husband, Ernie Bebee; and children: Bryan O'Leary and Trelawney Birkencamp. Sharon is survived by her children: Donna (Chris) Lewis, Robert (Cindy) Bebee, Tommy (Quinn Cochrane) Bebee, Scott (Lisa) O'Leary, and Dawn (Juan) Fortier; 20 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; and brothers: Lee (Pam) Dachenbach and Lynn (Eileen) Dachenbach; along with many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
