Ruth Charlene Jones

Ruth Charlene (Evans) Jones of Pershing, Iowa, passed away unexpectedly at the age of 79 years old at her home. Ruth was born on May 16, 1943, to Harvey Winfeild and Ethelyn Fay Evans. Ruth was united in marriage to Lodus Delno Jones, Sr. on March 14, 1958. And to this marriage there were four children born, Lodus Jones, Jr., Teresa Jones (Conrad), Kim Jones (Lyons), Angula Jones (Conrad), and welcomed into the family was adopted daughter, Jacqueline Jones (Ammons).
Ruth and Lodus celebrated 64 years of marriage on March 14, 2022. Ruth worked for Pella Corp. for 30 years. She retired and spent a lot of time with her family and friends. She really enjoyed going camping in the summers and living in Texas during the cold winter months with her husband. Ruth also enjoyed having coffee every morning with her late brother Chuck and going over to her best friends, Susan Evans and brother, Roberts Evans house having coffee, going to lunch, and going on shopping adventures with them.
Ruth was blessed with 10 grandchildren, Beckie, Greg, Shannon, Amanda, Marty, Stephanie, Michael, Dena, Dustin, and Rusty. She had 29 great grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren.
Those left to cherish Ruth’s memory include her husband, Lodus Jones; brother, Robert (Susan); daughters, Teresa, Kim (Tom), Angula (Norm) and Jacqueline; also many grandchildren; great grandchildren; and great-great grandchildren.
Ruth is preceded in death by her son, Lodus Jones, Jr.; brothers, Henry Cochran and Charles Evans; stepmom, Ruth Evans; and parents, Harvey and Ethelyn Evans.
There will be a Celebration of Life with food served scheduled for a later date at the Youth Center in Pershing, Iowa, on April 29, 2023, from 1:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M. with her family present. A family burial will be held at a later date at Zion Methodist Church in Pershing, Iowa.
