Ronaldlee LaVern Wells was born December 8, 1962 in Chariton, Iowa to Bernard and Barbara Griffin Wells .He grew up in Melcher-Dallas and graduated from Melcher-Dallas High School in 1981. He married Teresa Payton on June 15, 1985; they were blessed with two children Ronald Lee, Jr. and Nicole Elaine. Ronaldlee started working during his teenage years with his dad for the family business, BW & Sons Roofing. He then had a successful career at Vermeer for 15 years. Following his time at Vermeer, Ron began truck driving and landed a job at Hy-Vee Distrubition Center in Chariton, Iowa as a truck driver and has worked there the last 9 years. Ronaldlee was in the National Guard 3654 Maintenance Co. for 6 years, 1983-1989. He enjoyed truck driving and the people he worked with. Ronaldlee had a great ability to tell a story, joke, and to visit and make new friends wherever he went. Many people probably have a jar of his sugar cure in their truck or kitchen cupboard. He was always generous with his time and talents. He could build or fix anything. If a friend or neighbor would need something, he would drop everything he was doing to either help or just do it himself. He liked to collect things, as he knew he could and would find a use for everything at some point. He also enjoyed hunting, playing pool, playing cribbage and his most favorite games to play was Cards, Marbles & Jokers. Ronaldlee passed away at home on January 18, 2017 surrounded by his family and friends. He survived by his wife of 31 years, his children Ronald Lee, Jr. (Adam Limkemann) Wells, Nicole (Kevin) Weis, his grandson Leonard Weis, his parents Bernard and Barbara Wells, his Siblings Jim (Marietta) Wells, Lisa Rohrich, and Natasha (Matt) White.
