Ronald went to country schools around his home near Puckerbrush and then graduated from Chariton High School. He proudly served his country in the Marine Corps during the Korean War. Ronald operated a bulldozer and other heavy equipment for Keith Kent, Kevin Kent, and his son Kent Ruble. Ron enjoyed his work and loved to be outdoors. His favorite season was mushroom season, even spotting mushrooms while running the dozer. He never met a stranger and was a friend to all who knew him. He enjoyed taking gravel roads and trying not to go the same way twice, and it goes without saying he was a hard worker, he even enjoyed cutting musk thistles and cleaning out fence rows. He liked to go to coffee, but had to leave early to go to work. His family was very important to him; he was proud of his grandchildren and was always cutting out articles from the newspapers he has read since a young man and giving the articles to his children. Ron is preceded in death by his parents and a brother Roger. Ron is survived by his children: Kent (Jayne) Ruble of Carlisle, Rhonda (John) Crouse of Indianola, Kim Warner of Indianola, and Kirk (Marcia Freeland) Ruble of Carlisle; grandchildren: Josh Crouse, Kristin Crouse, 'Little' John Crouse (Carla Davies), Brook Breuklander (Pete), Aaron Page (Chris) all of Indianola, and Katie Freeland of Altoona; 4 great grandchildren; a sister-in-law Anna Ruble of Chariton, nieces and nephews, and many friends.
