Robert Wright

On November 28, 2013 Robert 'Bob' Dale Wright passed from this life into the presence of his Lord and Savior who had been waiting for him to come home. Arriving two months early on March 16, 1936 Bob was born to VerDene and Dale Wright of Hampton, IA. Fifteen minutes later he welcomed his brother Richard 'Dick' into this world. On December 11, 1960 he was married to Marian Dachenbach and to this union two sons were born. Steve was the first to arrive and two years later Ken joined the family. Ken and Lori Adam were married and to this union two granddaughters were born, Kendra and Kelsey. Steve and Karen Richardson were married and to this union a grandson Bain and a granddaughter Suzanne was born. Bob's family circle was now complete. He was preceded in death by his Mother VerDene Kent; his Father Dale Wright and Marlys Wright who chose to be his Mother; and special friend Dennis Berk. Bob is survived by his wife Marian; two sons, Steve (Karen) of Concord NC, Ken (Lori) of Olathe, KS and their children Kendra, Kelsey, Bain and Suzanne; his favorite sister Jori (Jim) Christopher of Phoenix, AZ; brothers Dick (Zelda) of Kingman, AZ, Jim (Raynette) of West Des Moines, IA, and Jon of Austin, TX; a nephew Seth; five nieces Shelley, Deb, Brooke, Amy and Kelly; three great nephews Chaz, Caleb and Nicholas; two great nieces Emily and Chloe; and a host of friends. In his early years he worked in retail, in the later part of his life he worked for UTA in Iowa City, IA. Because of his health he retired from UTA in 1999, left Iowa and moved to Kerrville, Texas. There he joined the First Baptist Church and became a part of the FBC's family. He enjoyed the fellowship of his Sunday school class and Life Group; being a greeter for Sunday morning worship; and keeping the envelopes stocked in the pews. He enjoyed golf and pool and spent many happy hours playing the games with his friends. The family will receive friends on Monday, December 2, 2013 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Grimes Funeral Chapels. He will be then be taken back to Iowa for services in Chariton on Saturday, December 7, 2013 at Pierschbacher Funeral Home then laid to rest in the Chariton Cemetery. He will be missed by all who know and loved him.
