Robert William Crees Jr.

Robert W. Crees, Jr., 78, passed away January 6, 2021 at the nursing home in Washington, Iowa after contracting COVID along with long-time health issues. Robert (Bob) was born October 3, 1942 in Winterset, Iowa to Robert W. and Eunice (Diers) Crees. Bob was a 1960 graduate of Johnston High School and resided in Polk County most of his life. He and his former wife, Marilyn Grief, had two daughters, Valerie and Sonya. Bob took great pride in owning his own concrete business, Crees Construction. He enjoyed his family, fishing, family vacations in Minnesota, rock-n-roll music, animals, nature and history. He was preceded in death by his parents and is survived by his daughters: Valerie (Kelly) Egen and Sonya (Kenny) Gwinn; five grandchildren: Alex, Olivia, Ivan, Mallory and Levi; four great-grandchildren: Sophie, Eleanor, Kashdon and Oaklie; brothers: Louis (Martha) Crees and John (Kim) Crees; nieces; nephew; and uncle, Fred Diers. At a later date, the family will hold a service at Wallace Cemetery in Warren County, Iowa.
