Robert Eugene "Pete" Taggart

Robert Eugene “Pete” Taggart, age 88, of Knoxville, Iowa, passed away at his residence on Wednesday, May 11, 2022. A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, May 20, 2022, at Winfield Funeral Home in Knoxville at 1:00 P.M. Burial with military honors will follow at Greenwood Cemetery. A luncheon will take place at Robert’s home following services. Robert was born on May 20, 1933, in Knoxville, Iowa, the third of three children born to Howard and Irene (Farmer) Taggart. Robert grew up in Knoxville and attended Knoxville Schools. Following high school, Robert joined the United States Navy and proudly served his country. Robert was united in marriage to Twylia Maxine Hunt on August 31, 1952. They were blessed with two daughters, Vickie and Nancy. Robert and Twylia enjoyed 62 years of marriage before her passing on October 20, 2014.
