Robert "Bob" Howard Stump

A Celebration of Life Gathering for Robert "Bob" Stump will be held Saturday, January 12, 2019, from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m., at the Pierschbacher Funeral Home in Chariton. Robert Howard Stump was born August 28, 1950 in Boone, Iowa to Bobby and Patricia Stump. Bob was raised alongside his brother, Kirk, and sister, Vicki, in Ogden, Lovilia, and Carlisle. He graduated from Carlisle High School in 1968 and went on to further his education at Grandview College. At this time, Bob worked as a produce manager for Hy-Vee in Des Moines. On September 2, 1976, Bob was united in marriage to Sanda Jo Bland. The couple was blessed with a daughter, Melissa. The family moved to Chariton, Iowa where Bob worked for U.S. Bank and later accepted a job at the Lucas County Health Center. In addition to working full time, Bob served on the Chariton Water Board and was a member of the Chariton Rotary Club. Bob enjoyed traveling and going on drives with his family. He was an avid reader and a big fan of James Patterson novels. Above all else, Bob enjoyed spending time with his family. He was a loving and caring husband and father. His wonderful sense of humor will be missed by many. Bob passed away January 7, 2019 at the age of 68. He was preceded in death by his mother, Pat Stump, in 2009; and his wife, Sanda Stump, in 2014. He will be greatly missed by his father, Bob Stump; daughter, Melissa (Mark) Wasinger of Arvada, CO; sister, Vicki (Ted) Oswald of North English; brother, Kirk (Jeanne) Stump of Des Moines; along with many aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.
