Robert "Bob" E. Wilkinson

Robert "Bob" Wilkinson, 78, of Chariton passed away Thursday, February 18, 2021 at his home. Bob was cremated under the care of Pierschbacher Funeral Home. Memorials in Bob's name may be made to the EveryStep Hospice Knoxville. Robert Eugene Wilkinson was born February 22, 1942 to Ledrew and May (Stone) Wilkinson in Alva, Oklahoma. He grew up in Oklahoma. Bob married Freida Lieswald in August of 1960 and to this union, two children were born: Kevin and Faye. He married Cyndi Swarthout on May 23, 1991 and gained two more children: Jason and Eric. Bob worked 10 years at the Alva Review Courier, a newspaper in Oklahoma. He later worked as the Director of Printing Services at Northwestern Oklahoma State University, where he retired. In 2005, they moved to Chariton, to be near Cyndi's mom. Bob loved to travel in the RV and camp. He had a passion for motorcycles, and enjoyed fishing. His family was very important to him. He loved to spend time with them, especially his children and grandchildren. Bob was always working on something. He talked of "My Keen Things", when referring to the items he was working on in his garage. He liked to stay busy and enjoyed remodeling homes. Bob was able to fix anything, and was a huge asset to the companies he worked for often building parts to fix the outdated printing presses and type sets he worked with. He often used the phrase: "You Got To Want To", when passing on his knowledge and life lessons to his children. He was also fond of reading books, especially anything by C.J. Box. Bob will be missed by his wife, Cyndi; children: Kevin Wilkinson, Faye Wilkinson, Jason Wetzel (Lisa), and Eric (Elizabeth) Wetzel; and grandchildren: Hailee, Isaac, Kody, and Emma. Along with brothers-in-law: Jim (Sandy) Swarthout, Denny (Becky) Swarthout, and Doug (Colette) Swarthout; and sister-in-law, Cheryl (Ken) Kline. Bob was preceded in death by his parents and four siblings: Betty Williams, Ladonna Andree, JoAnn Bennett, and John Wilkinson.
