Richard Arnold Randol

Richard Arnold Randol, age 87, of Knoxville, Iowa, passed away on Thursday, January 13, 2022, at Accura HealthCare in Newton.
Richard was born on April 28, 1934, in Knoxville, Iowa, the son of Bernard and Dorothy (Stephens) Randol. He was raised in Knoxville and played football while in high school. Richard graduated from Knoxville High School, Class of 1952.
Richard was united in marriage to Donna Long, four months before they graduated high school. They enjoyed 61 years of marriage, before her passing on July 12, 2013. Richard and Donna were blessed with two children, Mark and Diane.
Richard worked for the Marion County Engineer’s Office as a survey inspector. He was then employed for United States Postal Service as a mail carrier for 22 years.
Richard was an avid mushroom hunter, and enjoyed hunting pheasant, geese, and rabbits. He also loved beagle dogs. Richard was a past longtime member of the Kiwanis.
Visitation for Richard will be held on Sunday, January 16, 2022, at the Winfield Funeral Home in Knoxville. Visitation will be held from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. with family present to greet friends and relatives.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, January 17, 2022, at the Winfield Funeral Home at 1:30 P.M. Burial will take place at Graceland Cemetery in Knoxville. Following burial, a time of fellowship will be held at the funeral home with coffee and desserts served.
Those left to cherish his memory include his son, Mark (Kathy) Randol; granddaughter, Carla Randol; and nieces.
Richard is preceded in death by his parents, Bernard and Dorothy Randol; wife, Donna Randol; daughter, Diane Bradley; brother, Bud Randol; and sister, Vida Pierce.
