Ray Dean Todd, age 64, of Monroe and formerly of Knoxville, passed away on Tuesday, September 20, 2022, at the Emergency Room at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines.
A visitation for Ray will be held on Monday, September 26, 2022, from 10:00 A.M. to 11:30 A.M., at the Winfield Funeral Home, with Ray’s family present. A celebration of Ray’s life will begin at 11:30 A.M., also on Monday. Burial will be held at a later date at the Russell Cemetery in Russell, Iowa.
Ray was born on March 10, 1958, in Oskaloosa, Iowa, the son of Keith Albert and Lela Florence (Kimler) Todd. Ray was raised in Knoxville and graduated from Knoxville High School, Class of 1976.
During high school and shortly after Ray worked for Denburger Service Station, and then a magazine distributor until 1986, before moving to Durham, North Carolina. Later Ray moved with his family back to Knoxville and worked locally. For many years Ray was a custodian. For the last 9 years he worked at PCM schools.
Ray was united in marriage to Katie Jean Kamerick on June 21, 1986, at the First United Methodist Church in Knoxville. They shared 25 years of marriage and were blessed with two sons Aaron and Alex.
Ray enjoyed landscaping and was a master arborist. Ray’s greatest enjoyment was raising his family and being active in their lives.
Those left to cherish Ray’s memory include his two children Aaron Todd and his wife Whitney Houser of Lenexa, KS, and Alex Todd of Phoenix, AZ: and his brother Roger Todd and his wife Cindy of Knoxville; also former wife, Katie Vos of Phoenix, AZ.
Ray is preceded in death by his parents Keith and Lela Todd and his sister Beth Todd.
Memorials may be given in Ray’s memory to the Knoxville Little League or PCM Athletics.
