Randy Lane Bellon, age 73, of Knoxville, Iowa, passed away on December 3, 2023, at the Knoxville Hospital.

Visitation will take place from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Friday, December 8, 2023, at the Pierschbacher Funeral Home in Knoxville with A Celebration of Life service immediately following the visitation. Military will take place at the funeral home following services.

Randy was born on February 1, 1950, in Corydon, Iowa; the second of seven children born to Marlin and Irene (Williams) Bellon. As a young child, he lived in the Attica and Flagler area attending Flagler Country School.

In 1966, he moved to Knoxville and graduated from Knoxville High School, class of 1969. That September 12th, he was united in marriage to Judy DeMoss (Spaur). To this union, two children were born, Angela Marie and Randy Shane.

Randy enlisted in the National Guard 3654 Maintenance Unit and served from 1972 to 1976.

On March 13, 1996, he was united in marriage to Debbie VanderLinden in Knoxville. Randy worked for several years in the maintenance department at Rolscreen. He took a break from maintenance to follow his passion and drive semi-trucks cross country for approximately five years. Later, Randy went to work for Herschel Corporation in Indianola where he worked as a maintenance man for 25 years, retiring in 2017.

Randy enjoyed hunting, target shooting, and tinkering in his garage. There wasn’t much he wouldn’t fix or improve. He loved Dodge trucks. You’d often hear him say, “If you’re not driving a Dodge, you’re not driving the best.”

Randy was preceded in death by his mother; father; grandparents; and one sister-in-law, Nina Bellon.

Randy is survived by his wife, Debbie Bellon; children Angela (Eric) Fee and Shane (Amanda) Bellon; granddaughters, Terra (Dan) Johnson, Erica (Tanner) Dunkin, Bailey, Jenna, Aubrey, and Meredith; great grandson, August “Kansas”; and another great grandson, Baby Dunkin on the way. Randy is also survived by his brothers, Ron (Pat Blom) Bellon, Mike Bellon, and Steve (Mary) Bellon; sisters, Pat (Arnold) Uitermarkt, Dee (Joe Pyle) Brown; and MaryBeth (Tony) Rebarcak; also, his four-legged boys, Milo and Max; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

Memorials may be directed to Suncrest Hospice in Randy’s memory.
