Randal Eugene Mcvey

Randal Eugene McVey, age 73, of Dallas, Iowa, (formerly of Lawton, OK), passed away on Monday, February 7, 2022.
Randal’s wishes were to be cremated. A burial with military honors will take place on a later date at Iowa Veteran’s Cemetery.
Randal was born on May 3, 1948, in Osceola, Iowa, the son of Charles and Dorothy (Howe) McVey. He graduated from Des Moines Technical High School in 1966. Following high school, he joined the United States Marine Corps. and spent 13 months in Vietnam. He then joined the United States Army and retired as a Sgt. Major. Randal was proud to serve his country. Following his retirement from the military, Randal then worked for the Habitat for Humanity.
Randal was united in marriage to Carolyn “Chris” Murray on November 11, 1972. They enjoyed 38 years of marriage before her passing on February 25, 2011. Randal and Chris were blessed with two children, Troy, and Trina.
Randal enjoyed Lego’s, reading, and collecting books. His greatest joy was his family.
Those left to cherish his memory include his children, Troy (C.J. Santiago) McVey of Yona, Guam, and Trina Gonzales of Los Fresnos, TX; siblings, Sharon (Gary) Bennett of Dallas, IA, Kendal (Catherine) McVey of Chicago, IL, and Linda McVey of Des Moines, IA. Randal is also survived by two grandsons, Salvador Gonzales III, and Sebastian Eugene Gonzales; several nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews; also great-great nieces and nephews.
Randal is preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Dorothy McVey; and wife, Carolyn “Chris” McVey.
Memorials may be given in his memory to Habitat for Humanity.
