Ramona Cecil Ross

Ramona Ross passed away March 28, 2020 at her home in Russell. Private graveside services will be held Friday, April 3, 2020 at the Russell Cemetery. A gathering of family and friends will be held at a later time to honor her passing. Cards of condolences to the family may be sent to Suzzanne Briggs, PO Box 483, Albia, IA 52531. Ramona was born August 21, 1949 to Guy Spencer Foster and Donna June Gladney. She graduated from United Community School in Boone. Ramona worked with her dad in a car detailing business in Boone, Iowa before moving back to Chariton, Iowa. She worked at the Country Chef for many years before beginning the venture with her mother to open the restaurant Donna's Place in Chariton. After her mother passed away Ramona decided it was time to move on from owning a restaurant and began working at Northridge Assisted Living as a cook/dietitian. As her health began to fail, she finally retired to her home in Russell. Ramona had a kind heart and would help anyone and take them under her wing. She loved plants and could take a small broken leaf and bring it back to life. Cooking of course was a specialty after so many years in the kitchen. Garage sales were also a weakness as she was always looking for that special something. Spending time with family and friends was also very special to her and she loved any minute she could spend with them or speaking with them on the phone. Her two dogs will miss her dearly: Tinker and Pepper, who were her kids and she loved them very much. Surviving are her brother, Timothy Guy Foster; and sister, Glennette Suzzanne Gladney Briggs; her nieces and nephews; stepchildren: Ricky Ross, Rhonda (Rick) Allard, and Nick Ross; 5 grandchildren; and 8 great grandchildren; along with many relatives and friends.
