Paul A. Johnson

Services for Paul will be held on Saturday, June 9, 2007 at 10:30 AM at the First Lutheran Church in Chariton. Interment will be in the Norwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Friday, June 8th, at the Pierschbacher Funeral Home in Chariton. Memorials may be directed to the First Lutheran Church. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.pierschbacherfuneralhome.com Paul Alfred Johnson son of Roy and Helen Johnson was born January 1, 1938 in Des Moines, Iowa. He departed this life June 6, 2007 in Des Moines at the age of 69 years. Paul was united in marriage to Beverly Scheppler on February 17, 1963. They were blessed with three children: Nancy Sue Bruns, Eric Paul Johnson and Julie Anne VanWiel. During his lifetime Paul was a farmer, truck driver and school bus driver. Paul enjoyed fishing, gospel music, singing in the church choir, horses and motorcycles. He liked to tinker and everything just 'needed a little work.' Paul is survived by his wife, Beverly; children: Nancy (Paul) Bruns of West Branch, Eric Johnson of Cedar Rapids, and Julie (Keith) VanWiel of Johnston; 5 grandchildren: Anna, Lindsey, and Courtney Bruns and Lisa and Emily VanWiel; brother, Leroy (Joy) Johnson of Mt. Pleasant; and sister, Marilyn (Lyle) Coon of Farnhamville. Paul is preceded in death by his parents.
