Patsy Kay Neer

Patsy Kay Neer, 79, of Chariton, Iowa passed away January 3, 2023. Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 6, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at the Pierschbacher Funeral Home in Chariton. The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 5, 2023, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. also at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Knoxville Church of the Nazarene.

Patsy Kay Neer was born on November 16, 1943, in Pleasantville, Iowa to Herman and Cloy (Tickle) Bacon. She met Ronald Neer at an early age and the couple married on November 29, 1959, in the Dallas Christian Church. The couple lived in town for 28 years before moving to the farm where they enjoyed 33 wonderful years before moving to Knoxville.

Patsy was a homemaker to her family while the kids were young. She went on to college at the age of 50. She worked as the Public Library Director in Lacona. She was also the Missionary President of the Women’s Church Group at the Lacona Church of the Nazarene for several years. Through the years, she was active in the Lacona, Chariton, and Knoxville Church of the Nazarene.

Patsy’s biggest joy was her family. She was always there for them and enjoyed spending time with all of them, especially her grandchildren. She was an amazing, spunky lady who touched the hearts of many.

Patsy enjoyed reading in her spare time. Shopping was also a favorite for her, always looking for deals, especially on Amazon or at Hobby Lobby.

Those left to honor her memory are her children: Bradley (Kandy) Neer, Jerry (Melissa) Neer, and Bob (Porchia) Neer; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; sister, Rose (Jim) King; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ronnie; son, Kyle Joe; and brothers: Dale, Doug, and Danny Bacon.
