Patrick Michael Conway of Russell passed away Sunday, December 6, 2020 at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines. There will be a celebration of life held on Saturday, April 10, 2021 at 11:30 a.m., with a rosary at 11:00 a.m. at the Pierschbacher Funeral Home in Chariton. Visitation will be held prior from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. Memorials may be made to the Russell Fire Department First Responders. Patrick Michael Conway was born November 16, 1949 near Melrose, Iowa in Monroe County to Henry and Mary (Carmody) Conway. Patrick grew up in the Melrose area with his 8 siblings. He attended grade school in Melrose and graduated from Albia High School in 1968. He then went to Indian Hills and Kirksville to college. After school he began farming and farmed for himself for many years. He sold his farm after an accident and then worked several years for R.D. Curran. He was married to Denise Blue in 1993, he loved being a father to Morgan and Megan and a grandfather to Graden, Cutler, Kyzer, and Elsie. Patrick never missed an event the kids or grandkids were involved with. He loved watching their sporting events and especially enjoyed taking them to Hawkeye games. Patrick was preceded in death by his parents: Henry and Mary Conway; brother, Charlie Conway; brothers-in-law: Al Moore, Jim Kuhl, and Ron Thielenhaus; and father-in-law, Clayton Blue. He will be greatly missed by his wife, Denise; children: Morgan (Blair) McCullough and Megan (Mike) Arnold; grandchildren: Graden, Cutler, Kyzer, and Elsie; siblings: Marge Moore, Jim (Evelyn) Conway, Mary Kay (Jim) Flahive, Martha Kuhl, Mark (Patty) Conway, Marilyn Thielenhaus, and Diane Conway; sister-in-law, Sue Conway; mother-in-law, Patricia Blue; and in-laws: Dan (Wendy) Blue, Julie Blue, Jana Anthony, Skye Blue, and Scarlett (Jason) Summers; along with many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
