Patricia Marie Scalabrini, age 75, of Newton, Iowa, (formerly of Knoxville, Iowa and Sacramento, California) passed away on May 10, 2020 at MercyOne in Des Moines, Iowa.
Patrica’s wishes were to be cremated. A private graveside service will be held at Graceland Cemetery in Knoxville.
Patricia was born on August 12, 1944 in New Haven, Connecticut, the daughter of John and Mary (Wright) Hamilton. Patricia’s family moved to California, and she graduated from San Juan High School in Citrus Heights, California. After high school, she attended beauty school and later nursing school. She held various jobs, helping where she was needed with the family businesses. Patricia was united in marriage on November 2, 1972 to Joseph Donald Scalabrini. They enjoyed 47 years of marriage.
Patricia was known for her skill and talent in creating and designing beautiful handmade arts and crafts. Her talent ranged from simple soapmaking, crocheting, knitting, to making and creating stunning centerpieces, wreaths and floral bouquets. She was a longtime member of the Cowboy Church in Newton, was an active supporter of the Republican party and an avid fan of sprint car racing. She loved her country and was very patriotic
Patricia is survived by her husband, Joseph Scalabrini, daughter, Sheila (Kerry) Ross-Fasig; and son, Aaron Scalabrini.
Patricia is preceded in death by her parents, John and Mary Hamilton; and one brother, Hugh Hamilton.
