Ned Lero Allison, age 76, of Albia, Iowa died Monday, January 1, 2007 at the Monroe County Hospital in Albia. He was born September 22, 1930 in Hiteman, Iowa to Charles H. and Eta Harriet (Carter) Allison. Ned had worked at Oak View Cemetery in Albia and also worked a garbage route for his sister Goldie (Chidester) Griffin at Chidester Sanitation Service. He had also worked in the brickyard at Midland Brick in Ottumwa and for Benkies in Albia. He was a resident of Benton Place Apartments in Albia and loved visiting with his friends and playing cards. He also like to fish. He is survived by one sister, Helen Kesterke of Mansfield, Missouri; several nieces and nephews; and many friends. Ned was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers and five sisters. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, January 4, 2007 the Winfield Funeral Home in Albia with Rev. Terry Chapman officiating. Burial will be in Oak View Cemetery in Albia. Visitation will held Thursday, January 4 from 9:30 A.M. until the time of the service (11:00A.M.) at the Winfield Funeral Home in Albia with the family present. Casketbearers will be Ed Chidester, Doyle Mick, Jonathan Vaughn, George Pierschbacher, Bob Murphy and Roy Morgan. Memorials have been established to the Benton Place Apartments in Albia.
