Nancy Jean Shilling, age 76, of Knoxville, Iowa, passed away on Friday, December 16, 2022, at MercyOne Des Moines Medical Center in Des Moines.
Visitation for Nancy will be held from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M., on Tuesday, December 20, 2022, at the Winfield Funeral Home in Knoxville. Nancy’s family will be present from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M., Tuesday evening.
Funeral services will be held at the Winfield Funeral Home on Wednesday, December 21, 2022, at 10:30 A.M. Following Nancy’s services burial will be held at Graceland Cemetery in Knoxville.
Nancy Jean (Findley) Shilling was born on August 20, 1946, in Knoxville, Iowa, the daughter of Ray Robert and Bonnie Jean (Mark) Findley. Nancy’s family moved in her youth. She grew up in Albia, Hamilton, and Pleasantville, where she attended Pleasantville High School.
On January 26, 1963, Nancy was united in marriage to Don Shilling. They shared 20 years of marriage together and were blessed with two girls Kelley and Lori.
Nancy raised her family in Knoxville and was a homemaker for many years and worked part-time locally in Knoxville. In the late 1970’s she worked for Contel in Knoxville and later she worked and retired from the Marion County Clerk of Court Office.
Nancy was a caring mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved all her family. She was a wonderful cook, especially her noodles. She made quilts for her family and enjoyed puzzles and the Chicago Cubs.
Those left to cherish Nancy’s memory include her two daughters Kelley Hall (Larry) and Lori Chrisman (Kent) both of Knoxville; four grandchildren, Stefanie and Scottie Ethell and Blaine and Brooke Chrisman; and two great grandchildren, Taylor and Reed. Nancy is also survived by her sister Linda Juline and three brothers Ron Findley (Cris), Bob Findley, and Jim Findley (Robin); two Aunts, Sharon Stuchel and Roberta Findley; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Nancy is preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Bonnie Findley, and her brother-in-law Swann Juline.
Memorials may be given in Nancy’s memory to the Marion County Humane Society.
