Nancy Ann (Reed) Kingrey, age 62, of Knoxville, Iowa, passed away Wednesday, February 5, 2020 at her home, surrounded by her family.
Funeral services for Nancy will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Monday, February 10, 2020 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Knoxville. Burial will follow at Graceland Cemetery in Knoxville. Following burial services, a luncheon will be held at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church. A visitation will be held Sunday, February 9, 2020, beginning at 2:00 P.M. at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church. Nancy’s family will be present from 5:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M. to greet friends and relatives. At 8:00 P.M. a wake service will be held by Father Kevin Anstey.
Nancy was born on October 30, 1957 in Knoxville, Iowa, the daughter of Robert and Ruth (Schlotterback) Reed. She attended Knoxville Schools and graduated with the Class of 1977. Nancy was united in marriage to Jack Kingrey on September 15, 1979. They were blessed with three children, Justin, Austin, and Ashley, and enjoyed 40 years of marriage. Nancy worked at Iowa Power & Light, and in 1978 became employed at 3M. She worked there until her retirement in 2013.
Nancy was a longtime member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church and St. Anthony’s Altar and Rosary. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Melcher. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Her smile could light up a room and she will be deeply missed by those who loved her.
Nancy is survived by her husband of 40 years, Jack Kingrey; children, Justin (Michelle) Kingrey, Austin (Amanda) Kingrey, and Ashley Kingrey; mother Ruth Schlotterback; twelve grandchildren, Austin Little, Reagan Little, Paige Kingrey, Rylan Kingrey, Hallie Boender, Kiaya Kingrey, Trenten Kingrey, Briar Kingrey, Jensen Kingrey, Garritt Kingrey, Bryson Kingrey, and Jaycie Kingrey; siblings, Jim (Sherrie) Reed, Dick (Vickie) Reed, John (Martha) Reed, Rita Kay Crabtree, Bill (Jeanie) Schlotterback, and Susan (Bob) Evans; father and mother-in-law, Jack and Blanche Kingrey; sister-in-law, Ginny Kingrey; also a host of other family and friends.
Nancy is preceded in death by her grandson, Justin Little; father, Robert Reed; step-dad, Merle Schlotterback, Sr.; and brother, Merle Schlotterback, Jr.
