Myra Jane Johnson

A visitation for Myra Jane Johnson, of Chariton, will be Friday, August 7, 2020 from 9:30 until 10:30 a.m. at the Pierschbacher Funeral Home in Chariton. A graveside service will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the Chariton Cemetery. Memorials may be made in care of Myra's family. Myra Jane Riley was born June 20, 1959 to Willie Riley and Lois (Agan) Riley in Ukiah, California. She was one of five children born to the couple. Myra was united in marriage to Ira Johnson. The couple was blessed with three daughters: Tracy, Sherry, and Angela. Myra also helped to raise "the son she never had", Anthony, from the age of six months. Myra loved being a mother and homemaker. She was a wonderful cook. Biscuits and gravy and fried catfish were her specialties. Myra enjoyed scouting out garage sales and thrift stores. She was always looking for treasures. More than anything, Myra loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Myra passed away August 3, 2020 at the age of 61. She will be dearly missed by her husband, Ira Johnson of Chariton; daughters: Tracy (Robert) Schneider of Knoxville, Sherry Johnson of Chariton, and Angela Johnson of Chariton; 13 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; siblings: Cathy Young (Jerry Wineland) of Le Roy, IA, Neil (Lynette) Riley of Ukiah, CA, and Mike Riley of Redwood Valley, CA; her boxer, Bear; along with many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie and Lois Riley; brother, Bobby Riley; and two boxers, Spot and Precious. Visitation
