Monte Manser, 47, passed away on August 27, 2018, at his home in Des Moines. A Gravside Service will be held on Saturday, September 15, 2018 10:00 a.m. at Rosemount Cemetery. A celebration of Monte's life will follow, from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m., at the Pierschbacher Funeral Home in Lacona. Monte was born October 28, 1970, in Des Moines, Iowa, to Daniel "Red" and Lola (Ripperger) Manser. He grew up in Lacona, attended Southeast Warren High School and graduated in 1989. He was a great athlete and enjoyed football, wrestling, baseball, and playing the guitar. After graduation, he pursued his love for the game at Iowa Central Community College where he continued to play football. Monte never met a stranger and was a friend to everyone. He enjoyed getting together and having fun with friends. He had worked at Northwestern Bell Telephone and drove a concrete truck for Indianola Ready Mix in the Indianola area. Recently Monte worked a variety of jobs through a temp agency with the most recent being closing out the Younkers stores. Monte was preceded in death by his parents, Red and Lola, and his infant brother, Blaine. He is survived by his daughter, Kiley; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, relatives, and friends. Monte will be buried at the Rosemount Cemetary. Memorial contributions may be made to the family in his name. A portion of the contributions will be used to purchase a bench to be placed at the SEW football field in memory and honor of Monte. Cemetery Details Rosemount Cemetery 22925 Quebec St.
