Maxyne Jeanette Chambers

Maxyne Jeanette (Ackerson) Chambers, age 90, of Columbia, Iowa, passed away on Saturday, February 11, 2023, at WestRidge Specialty Care in Knoxville. Maxyne was born on February 12, 1932, in Harcort, Iowa, the daughter of Arvid “Buck” and Mildred (Eckstrom) Ackerson. She attended Dallas High School and graduated with the class of 1950. Maxyne was united in marriage to Robert “Bob” Dwain Chambers on February 25, 1953. They were blessed with six children, Karen, Linda, Nancy, Diane, Terry, and Tim. Maxyne and Bob enjoyed 47 years of marriage before his passing in September 2000. Maxyne worked locally, include employment at Avery’s Hardware, Spurgeon’s, and Community National Bank, Brenton Bank, and retired from Wells Fargo Bank. She also worked as a seamstress. Maxyne was a gifted quilter, and made quilts for all her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
