Mavi Elda (Bott) Riggen, age 68, of Harvey, Iowa, passed away on December 29, 2021, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.
Mavi’s wishes were to be cremated. A graveside burial will be held on a later date at Graceland Cemetery in Knoxville.
Mavi was born on December 10, 1953, in Dubuque, Iowa, the daughter of Robert and Eve (Simonet) Bott. She graduated from Hempstead High School. Following graduation, Mavi served in the United States Army for two years.
Mavi worked for Pinkerton as a security guard. She enjoyed playing games, and her favorite movie was “Gone With the Wind”. Mavi’s favorite color was purple. She also enjoyed collecting butterflies, frogs, and elephants. Mavi’s greatest joy was her family.
Those left to cherish Mavi’s memory include her mother, Eve Sage; brother, Bob (Sue) Bott; husband, Ronald Riggen; children, Troy Charland, Tracy Charland, and Nikki Charland; also three step-children, Curt Riggen, Jeff Riggen, and Doug Riggen. Mavi is also survived by eight grandchildren, and numerous step-grandchildren.
Mavi is preceded in death by her father, Robert Bott; and brother, Ricky Bott.
Winfield Funeral Home in Knoxville is assisting Mavi’s family with arrangements.
