Matthew Wayne Kamerick was born on February 13, 1985 in Pella, Iowa, the son of Donald and Mary Jo “Jody” (See) Kamerick. He was raised in Pella and attended Pella Community High School. After high school, he attended Indian Hills Community College.
Matthew worked in road construction and home construction throughout his lifetime. Matthew enjoyed music and playing the guitar. He also enjoyed doing leather crafts.
Matthew will be remembered by his family and friends for his ornery grin, beautiful blue eyes, and his big kind heart. He was deeply loved by them all and will be greatly missed. Those that truly knew Matthew knew how much he loved his family and friends. His addiction and past mistakes do not define who he truly was. He tried hard to beat his addiction several times, yet that life always managed to sneak back in. God chose to call him home on October 16, 2020, at the age of 35. He is finally free of his pain and struggles. He will always be loved and cherished by those that knew him.
Those left to cherish his memory are:
Parents: Mother and Step-Father, Mary Jo “Jody” Ryan (Kim) of Pella;
Children: Kyra Kamerick, Crysta VanEe, Cayden VanEe, Lainie Kamerick, and Ryder Simmons.
Grandchildren: Jamari and Zyshonne Kamerick
Siblings: Brandy Jenkins
Aunt Deb Randol (Eric); Aunt Stacy Van Gorp; Aunt Sheri Stursma (Justin); Aunt Terry Cecil (Russ); Uncle Daniel Kamerick; also many cousins, nieces and nephews.
