Mary Van Wardhuizen

Mary Ellen Van Wardhuizen, age 54, of Corning, Iowa formerly of Albia died Thursday morning, August 16, 2007 at the Nodaway Place, Midwest Opportunities Residential Care Facility in Corning. She was born October 4, 1952 in Albia to Arnold and Erma Alice (Beck) Van Wardhuizen, Sr. Mary was born and raised in Monroe County, resided at Glenwood State Hospital and spent the last 13 years at Nodaway Place in Corning, Iowa. She enjoyed listening to country music and going to work at Midwest Opportunities, Inc. in Corning. She is survived by her mother, Erma Van Wardhuizen of Albia; 5 siblings, Richard (Debra) Van Wardhuizen of Albia, Arnold (Hope) Van Wardhuizen, Jr. of Ottumwa, Wayne (Jonith) Van Wardhuizen of Knoxville, Beth (Craig) Morgan of Albia and John (Bonnie) Van Wardhuizen of Knoxville, 20 nieces and nephews and several great nieces and nephews. Her father, Arnold, Sr. and one uncle, John Van Wardhuizen, precede her in death. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday, August 20, 2007 at the Winfield Funeral Home in Albia with Pastor Lowell Simmons officiating. Burial will follow in the Oak View Cemetery in Albia. Visitation will open after 2:00 P.M. Sunday, August 19 at the Winfield Funeral Home with the family present from 6-8 P.M. Sunday evening. Memorials may be made to Nodaway Place in Corning, Iowa.
