Mary Jane Holmes

Mary Jane Holmes, 71 of Lucas, passed away January 11, 2022. Private services will be held at a later date.
Mary Jane Price was born to Jack and Barbara Price on May 25, 1950 in Newton, Iowa. Mary Jane was one of five children born to the couple and grew up in Newton. She graduated from Newton High School with the class of 1968.
After high school, Mary Jane moved to Des Moines where she studied cosmetology. She was a cosmetologist for years and loved having her own shop. Mary Jane’s creativity not only made her a very talented stylist, but a great designer, and skilled at various arts and crafts.
Mary Jane was blessed with two children, Shelby and Curtis. She was a proud mother, and later, grandma and great grandma. Mary Jane moved to Lucas County in the mid-nineties to be closer to her family.
She will be dearly missed by her daughter, Shelby Danilson; son, Curtis Danilson; grandchildren: Cedric, Sierra, Cohen, Brianna, Cameron, and Shelby; great grandchildren, Sophia and Jackson; and siblings: Doug Price, Trisha Jenkins, and Missy Stepp. Mary Jane was preceded in death by her parents, and her sister, Joann Francis.
