Mary Ann Pim was born August 13, 1949, the second child of Ralph Emerson Pim and Norma Myrtle Benson Pim. She passed away July 2, 2020 at Southern Hills Care Facility in Osceola. Mary Ann lived nearly her entire life in Jackson township of Lucas County, until recently occupying her beloved childhood home. She loved life on the farm, and especially loved roaming the timber. When in season, hunting morel mushrooms and black raspberries was always a favorite activity. Graduating from Chariton High School in 1967, she went on to attend Simpson college in the fall and completed her degree in Social work, graduating in 1971. Mary Ann had a wide circle of friends from all parts of her life. In 1973, son Aaron was born and in 1976, son Adam joined the family. During these years, Mary Ann was a homemaker and devoted Mom. Some of her favorite past-times were knitting and sewing, making many of the clothes her children would wear. Also extremely talented in the kitchen, her treats were sought after at pot-lucks and gatherings alike. She worked extensively with Lucas County 4H and led a club, the Otterettes, later renamed the NorLuco club. For nearly 25 years, she also worked at Youngs, Inc. She had a deep and abiding faith and was a member of the church, singing in the choir and performing with the Bell Choir for many years. A devoted Grandmother to four beautiful Grandchildren, Abby, Trace, Molly & Bethany, she delighted in watching them grow and enjoyed spending time with them. Easily one of the sweetest & nicest people on the planet, her entire family and circle of friends are grateful for having been a part of her well-lived life. Her sons could not possibly have asked for a more devoted and loving Mother and are forever indebted to the values she helped to instill. Mary Ann passed away on July 2, 2020. She will be dearly missed by her sons, Aaron (Christo) Storm and Adam (Kristie) Storm; grandchildren: Abby, Trace, Molly, and Bethany; and siblings, Doug Pim and June Anderson. Mary Ann was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Norma Pim; and brothers, Stephen Pim and Duane Pim. Cemetery Details Chariton Cemetery HWY 14 and HWY 34
