Mary Adams

Mary Teresa Adams, age 85, of Albia, Iowa died Saturday, October 13, 2007 at the Monroe Care Center in Albia. Mary was born October 23, 1921, north of Georgetown, Iowa to James Leo and Anna Teresa (Comer) Craig. Mary was a graduate of Georgetown High School and after school she attended William Penn College and received her teaching certificate. She was a rural teacher in Monroe County for several years until she became a homemaker. Mary married George Joseph Adams Sr., on November 23, 1942 at St. Patrick?s Catholic Church in Georgetown. They shared 45 years of marriage before George?s death on October 1, 1988. Mary was active throughout her life. She was a member of St. Mary?s Catholic Church and St. Mary?s Altar and Rosary both of Albia. Mary was also a member of the Retired Teachers Association. Mary is survived by her two sons, George Adams Jr., and his wife Kathy Adams, and their two children Christopher and Aimee Adams; Leo Adams and his wife Tammy, and their three children Wyatt, Alexandria, and Savannah Adams. Mary is also survived by two brothers, John Craig of Ankeny, and Jim Craig of Bettendorf; and one sister Cecelia Kosman of Weldon. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, James and Anna; her husband, George Adams Sr.; and three brothers, James Craig in infancy, Leo Craig, and Joseph Craig.
