Mary Adair

Mary Helen (Miller) Adair, age 86, of Albia, Iowa died Sunday, September 30, 2007 at the Monroe County Hospital in Albia. She was born December 17, 1920 in Albia, Iowa to Fred G. and Della (Carter) Miller. She married Harold G. Adair on April 29, 1951 in the Methodist Church in Albia. He died December 10, 1976. She was a graduate of Albia High School, class of 1938. She taught country school for 3 years, worked 4 years at McLellan?s Dime Store, 16 years as a custodian, and 15 years as a Certified Nurses Aid for Private Health Care. Mary Helen was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church in Albia and a Past Worthy Matron for the Order of Eastern Star in Albia. She is survived by two sister-in-laws, Mary Helen Miller of Invergrove, Minnesota and Angie Miller of Charleston, South Carolina; along with nieces and nephews. Her parents; husband; two sisters, Florence Milligan and Martha Scott; two brothers, George C. Miller and Perry R. Miller precede her in death. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, October 3 at the Trinity United Methodist Church in Albia with Rev. Kevin Leveck officiating. An Order of Eastern Star service will also be held at the church on Wednesday. Interment will follow at the Oak View Cemetery in Albia. Visitation will open after 9:00 A.M. Wednesday, October 3 at the Trinity United Methodist Church in Albia and remain open until the time of the service at 1:00 P.M. Casketbearers will be Tom Shovlain, Rowland Barnes, Rev. Kevin Leveck, John Schoolen, Gary Belzer and Melvin Sickles. Memorials have been established to the Trinity United Methodist Church in Albia.
