Marvin was born on December 23, 1931 in Lacona, Iowa to Pete and Priscilla (Conrad) Miller. Marvin was in the United States Army from 1952 - 1954. Marvin was united in marriage to Norma Jean (Jacobs) Miller on September 25, 1954. To this union, four children were born: Denis, Denise, Duane, and Don. Marvin owned a Mobil Gas Station in Lacona for eighteen years. He drove a school bus for Southeast Warren for forty-one years and worked as a custodian at the high school. He enjoyed driving the bus for athletic events and history trips. Marvin enjoyed his livestock; especially his quarter horses, sheep, and cattle. He loved to attend his children and grandchildren's sporting events. Marvin was a member of the American Legion in Lacona and a dedicated member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. Marvin was very fortunate to have two wonderful women in his life. Marvina nd Norma Jean were married for forty-seven years. After her passing, Velma Shepherd became a special lady in Marvin's life and in the lives of his family. For the past sixteen years, Marvin would start his days by going to Velma's for a hot cup of coffee and her delicious muffins. The couple enjoyed spending time together and their relationship was good for Marvin's heart and soul. Marvin passed away Wednesday, August 28, 2019 at Windsor Manor of Indianola at the age of 87.
