Marvin Lee

Marvin J. Lee, #224 Iowa State Patrol Ret., transferred into the arms of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, Sept. 9, 2019 surrounded by his family. Marvin was born November 27,1928 to Ledlie and Minnie Lee in Perry, Iowa. He was married to Kathryn Fenn Lee on June 23, 1948 for nearly 64 years until her death. Marvin later married Marjorie Garrison Lee on March 21, 2015. Marjorie lovingly cared for Marvin until his death. He was an Iowa State Trooper for 41 years, and at the time of his retirement was the state's longest serving trooper. Marvin served the Lord at Grace Baptist Church as a Sunday school teacher, deacon, and provided transportation for anyone in need. He loved telling countless stories, even if you had already heard them! He loved bicycling, jogging in the cemetery, and spending time with his family. His grandchildren were delighted to hear his imitations of Foghorn Leghorn and Junior Bear. Marvin is survived by his three daughters and their spouses: Linda and Ron Roush, Bondurant, IA; Debi and Lee Long, Lexington, SC; and Kristi and Mark Olivero, Greer, SC; wife, Marjorie Garrison Lee; eight grandchildren, twenty-two great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild. Marvin was preceded in death by his mother, Minnie Lee; father, Ledlie; his wife, Kathryn Fenn Lee; and his son, Michael David Lee. Memorials may be sent to EveryStep Hospice, 213 East Main Street, #103, Knoxville, Iowa 50138. Family will receive friends on Thursday, September 12th, from 5 to 7pm at the Pierschbacher Funeral Home in Chariton, Iowa. The funeral service will be Friday, September 13th, 2019 at 10am at the Pierschbacher Funeral Home. Interment will follow at the Chariton Cemetery.
