Marita "Rita" Kay Raney

Marita “Rita” K. Raney, age 64, of Knoxville, Iowa, passed away on Saturday, December 24, 2022, at the Knoxville Hospital.
Rita was born on April 24, 1958, in Knoxville, Iowa, the daughter of Raymond James and Mary Lou (Byers) Pitt. She grew up in Knoxville and attended Knoxville High School, graduating with the class of 1976.
Rita was united in marriage to Timothy James Raney and they were blessed with one son, Jacob. For a time, Rita worked at the V.A. Hospital in Knoxville as a CNA and then became employed as a unit clerk at the Knoxville Hospital in the Emergency Dept. Rita’s greatest joy was her grandkids and her two dogs.
Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Jacob Raney; siblings, Gloria Hoch, Barb Shuld, David Pitt, Sandy Cupples, and Jeri Scott; five grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Rita is preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Mary Lou Pitt; husband, Tim Raney; and brother, Raymond Dwayne Pitt.
Rita’s wishes were to be cremated. A Celebration of Life will be held on March 10, 2023, at Celebrate Community Church in Knoxville from 12:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M.
