Marie Elizabeth (Hronec) Stanley

Marie Elizabeth (Hronec) Stanley, age 94, of Knoxville, Iowa, passed away on March 26, 2022, at West Ridge Specialty Care in Knoxville. Marie was born on September 24, 1927, in Ft. Dodge, Iowa, the eldest daughter of seven children. Her parents were the late Rev. George and Julia Hronec. Her father was a pastor at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Fort Dodge, Marie spent her childhood in Zanesville, Ohio, until the family moved to Eddyville, Iowa. Marie graduated from Eddyville high school in 1945. Following high school, Marie worked for the U.S. Air Force in Inglewood, California. She then became employed at Stitely Radio Electric in Oskaloosa, IA. Marie retired from the V.A. Medical Center in October 1987, with 27 years of dedicated service. Marie was united in marriage to Rolland Stanley in 1949. To this union arrived five sons, Steven, Daniel, Michael, Robert, and Philip. The most important thing in Marie’s life was her family.
