Margaret Mary McKissick Margaret Mary McKissick, age 100, of Albia, Iowa died Sunday evening, December 17, 2006 at the Monroe Care Center in Albia. She was born October 7, 1906 in Monroe County, Iowa to J.W. and Nellie (Byerley) McGilvrey. She married Floyd McKissick in the United Methodist Church in Albia. He preceded her in death. Margaret was a graduate of Albia High School. She was a homemaker and had taught country school for a few years. She was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church in Albia and was very active within the church. She enjoyed gardening, cooking and spending time with family. She is survived by 4 grandchildren, Mark (Carole) Carter of Cloudcroft, New Mexico, Paul (Amy Gibb) Carter of Boulder, Colorado, Laura (Randy) Smith of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Craig Vanderbeek of Tulsa, Oklahoma; 6 great grandchildren, Maggie and Alex Carter of Cloudcroft, New Mexico, Jacob and John Carter-Gibb of Boulder, Colorado, and Jenna and Braden Smith of Tulsa, Oklahoma; 2 son-in-laws, Merlyn (Nancy) Carter of Pella and Robert Vanderbeek of Tulsa, Oklahoma. Also surviving is one sister, Elizabeth Jones of Albia; and several nieces and nephews. Margaret was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; 2 daughters, Carol and Judy; one brother, George McGilvery; and 3 sisters, Cleta Mahin, Hellen Bettis and Mildred Clark. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 21, 2006 at 1:30 P.M. at the Trinity United Methodist Church in Albia with Rev. Kevin Leveck officiating. Burial will be in the Union Chapel Cemetery north of Albia. Visitation will open after 12:00 P.M. on Wednesday, December 20 at the Winfield Funeral Home in Albia with the family present from 6-8 P.M. Wratten Memorials have been established to the Trinity United Methodist Church Youth Center in Albia.
