Lynn Allen Roberts was born July 13, 1944, to Lewis C. and Phyllis Pauline (McCullough) Roberts in Corydon, Iowa. He grew up with his sister Pauline in the Confidence area. He married Joyce Head, and the couple was blessed with three sons: Rodney, Randy, and Rusty. Lynn always had a love for the outdoors, agriculture, and machines. In his younger years he spent quite a bit of time hunting and fishing.

Although losing his son Randy at the age of 6 years was a low point in Lynn's life, he always kept his faith and positive outlook on life. He was married to Cheryl Eaton on April 9, 1994, and Lynn welcomed her children Russ and Cherry to the family. He fiercely loved his family and would do absolutely anything for his children and grandchildren. Lynn was generous and giving in his spirit and actions. Pastoring the New Life Full Gospel Church in Humeston for more than 15 years was very rewarding. He was a talented musician playing the guitar and singing in a gospel band and at church for most of his life. Lynn always put others first just as the bible had taught him. He also taught his children and grandchildren important values of humility, hard work, generosity, and how to show emotion.

Lynn loved to laugh, laughing so hard he would cry and could barely speak often happened when he was telling a story or pulling a prank. He was always fun to work with. The unpredictable nature of cattle and hogs always made for a fun story. Lynn always worked hard and enjoyed working. He farmed from approximately 1963 to 1986, and also ran heavy equipment for Benny Davis in the 60's and 70's. He was currently working with Dave Downey running a dozer. He loved the work and the people he worked with. There was also time for fun ventures as he and family opened a hobby shop and enjoyed the remote-control airplanes, helicopters, cars, and even the paintball guns.

Lynn will be greatly missed by all who knew him, including his wife of 30 years, Cheryl Roberts; children: Rodney (Tamdan) Roberts, Rusty (Tonya) Roberts, Russ (Sandy) Hall, and Cherry (Steve) Rehbein; 13 grandchildren: Ryan, Devon (Zac), Katelyn, Megan, Gracie, Allison, Alexis, Blake, Miah, Jack (McKailah), Brandon, Ashley, and Cassie; four great grandchildren: Reese, Eli, Lucia, Sophia; along with sister-in-law, Judy (Mike) Jones; and many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

Preceding him in death were his parents: Lewis and Phyllis; his son, Randy; and, his sister, Pauline Powell.
