Lonnie J. McClaran

Lonnie McClaran, 54, of Chariton, Iowa, passed away on Saturday, October 8, 2022. Services to be planned at a later date.

Lonnie Joe McClaran was born on January 14, 1968, to Barry McClaran and Donna McWilliams in Des Moines, Iowa. He grew up in Alaska and graduated from high school and attended some college there. He worked as a factory worker.

Lonnie had a heart of gold. He loved animals and really enjoyed working with his Dad’s horses and helping him. He was a computer whiz and enjoyed nothing more than spending time with people.

Lonnie was a lonely soul and craved friends and love from his family. In memory of Lonnie, please reach out to anyone you see struggling. We often don’t know the heart of the person and what a difference you could make.  

Lonnie will be dearly missed by his mother, Donna Blankenship of Leon, Iowa; sister, Cora (Michael) Turner of Texas; uncle, Perry McWilliams of Osceola, Iowa; and uncle, Brian McClaran of Leon, Iowa; many cousins; one niece; and two great nieces.

Lonnie was preceded in death by his father, Barry McClaran; brother, Shawn Falke; brother, BJ Bunte; and stepfather who raised him, Roger Blankenship.
