Lodus Delno Jones, Jr. was born on Sept 27, 1958, in Knoxville, Iowa. He grew up in Pershing and attended school in Attica and Bussey. He met Edith Lorraine Martin in 1973 while working in a hayfield by Lovilla, and they dated throughout high school. They were married in Milan, Missouri in 1976. They resided in Harvey for a short while, and later moved to Pershing, where they raised their children.
Lodie lived a very colorful life, had a way with the ladies, and didn't know a stranger. He was said to have had 9 lives and the gift of gab. He enjoyed fried morel mushrooms, dutchmess, and his mom's tuna noodle casserole. He enjoyed collecting coins, watches, and turquoise jewelry.
Lodie never liked to be in one place for too long. He loved camping and traveling to North Carolina with his family when he was younger, and he was always down to take a road trip to wherever. He loved music, preferably The Eagles, Guns and Roses, and Meatloaf. In his later years, he enjoyed driving around the lake and relaxing with his dogs, Mimi, Capone, and Colby.
Lodie passed away at his home in Pershing on March 8, 2022, with his family at his side, exactly the way he wanted. He was the absolute best father, grandfather, son, uncle, and brother that anyone could ever ask for, and he will be deeply and sorely missed.
